Blue and Gold Service Project

In 1910, newspapers featured Model T Fords chugging along rutted roads at 8 miles an hour; Detroit's center fielder, Ty Cobb, batting .385; and Tom Swift hitting the book market with a bang. Buried deep in one newspaper, it was reported: "William D. Boyce, a Chicago publisher, incorporated the Boy Scouts of America in Washington, D.C. on February 8.” That was all it said. Now it is a much bigger event!

February 8th, 2010 is the CUB SCOUT / BOY SCOUT BIRTHDAY! This is why we celebrate our "Blue and Gold" in February. This year, Pack 45 will honor this very special event by running a BIRTHDAY BAG COLLECTION. To support our Charter and the community we will be collecting items to make a birthday bag for children who receive services from the Food Pantry at St. Anne's. These bags will allow children in need to be able to celebrate a birthday. Scouts and their families are asked to bring a donation to our Blue and Gold Brunch Banquet of the following items to include in our bags:

  • cake mix
  • frosting
  • candles
  • table cloth
  • paper plates, napkins, forks
  • plastic cups
  • a 9 inch aluminum baking pan
  • child birthday card (either gender)
The Big Sisters of Pack 45 will be collecting and organizing this drive along with Confirmation Candidates from St. Anne's. All items need to be NEW and in the original packaging. Please contact Jess lashiksagoddess@gmail.com with any questions
