Blue and Gold Service Project
In 1910, newspapers featured Model T Fords chugging along rutted roads at 8 miles an hour;
Detroit's center fielder, Ty Cobb, batting .385; and Tom Swift hitting the book market with a bang.
Buried deep in one newspaper, it was reported: "William D. Boyce, a Chicago publisher, incorporated
the Boy Scouts of America in Washington, D.C. on February 8.” That was all it said. Now it is a much bigger event!
February 8th, 2010 is the CUB SCOUT / BOY SCOUT BIRTHDAY! This is why we celebrate our "Blue and Gold" in February. This year, Pack 45 will honor this very special event by running a BIRTHDAY BAG COLLECTION. To support our Charter and the community we will be collecting items to make a birthday bag for children who receive services from the Food Pantry at St. Anne's. These bags will allow children in need to be able to celebrate a birthday. Scouts and their families are asked to bring a donation to our Blue and Gold Brunch Banquet of the following items to include in our bags:

- A Liberty Science Center Trip is on the calendar for Feb 10th. We need two leaders to volunteer to attend and run the trip.
******CAMPER ACCOUNTS
Please note that camper accounts need to be used by the end of the 2017 Scouting year for Lions- Webelos- June 2017. Arrow of Light Scouts need to use their account before Bridging 4/27/17. Any funds not used will be rolled in the general pack fund.

- Camper accounts can be used for the following events/items:
- Trips/Events run by the Pack or Council -council trips require receipt of payment submitted with the Reimbursement form.
- Council purchases for your scout- require receipt of payment from the Council store submitted with the Reimbursement form.This includes uniforms, books, projects, supplies.
- Registration fees in the spring.
- Blue and Gold Tickets for family members (The Pack pays for REGISTERED Scouts and Sisters)
- Camp Fees for Lewis and Yaw Paw- requires receipt of online payment submitted with the Reimbursement form.
- Camp Fees for Turrell and NoBe- requires receipt of online payment submitted with the Reimbursement form- Arrow of Light ONLY.
- Class B orders
- If a Scout or Sister chooses to leave the Pack and Cub Scouting, the money in his/her camper account rolls into the Pack General account as per BSA policy.
- If a Scout TRANSFERS packs or bridges into a Troop, Pack 45 will write the new Unit a check transferring the monies from the camper account to the new Unit. Please be aware that new Units may or may not maintain camper accounts and those funds may be rolled into that Units general account as per BSA policy.
- Camper accounts cannot be rolled over to the next scouting year. Funds must be used by June 1, 2017 so the Pack can close out the year.

WINTER CAMPING!!!!
Hello families!!!!
We have just confirmed our 3rd Annual Winter Camping Trip! We will be going to BSA Camp NoBeBoSco in Blairstown NJ on March 17th-19th. This is kicks off our camping season. This trip is open to the entire pack and families (Other trips will be rank specific).

- This trip is open to all ranks from Lion to Arrow of Light
- Siblings are welcome
- Cold weather gear and clothing is mandatory
- Price $35 PP
- Sign ups will start 1/26- there is a cap for numbers
- Cabins: Retsu and New Cabin #2
- The sign up list HAS BEEN FILLED!!! PAYMENT IS DUE BY 2/16
- A waiting list has been started. If payment is not received by 2/16, the spot will move to the next family waiting.

I'm sorry to share that our Arrow of Light Scout Tyler Martin lost his mother this weekend. The arrangements are as follows: Sunday 10:00 a. m. Louis Suburban Chapels, 13-01 Broadway Fair Lawn. The Martin-Harris family thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. The family will be sitting shiva at 11:30 am 20-15 Hunter Place Fair Lawn

TIGER TUMBLE!!!!!!

CLASS B shirts will be on sale during the race. These are the OG green. A silk screen will not be run this year.
We are looking for parents to help with set up 7:30 pm 1/13 Friday night and clean up 1/14 after the race.

CAR NUMBERS
Cars must be numbered in the front of the vehicle. This was omitted from the Derby Standard Operating Procedures and will be rectified ASAP. New Derby SOPS will be posted asap to reflect this oversight. Extra numbers will be available at weigh in and on Derby day. Keep watching the blog for updates!!!
